Daundaground Story

- Daundaground on KSJS, was revolutionary programming. After having all Black and Latino programming removed from KSJS, a coalition of community, students, BSU, and members of the radio station protested, met, and organized a station that truly represented the people. Daundaground aired from 10pm-2am, with talk shows, and uncensored music. Lasting 3yrs until rules were implemented to remove the all members of DU. This movement so changed bay area radio that KMEL was forced to go "all" hip hop, and address the bay with KRS1, remember that? that was a result of lost ratings to the small non-commercial station from San Jose State, who won best college radio station in the nation 3 yrs in a row. Daundaground since went to the web, where the first 3 yrs was internet radio & news, then onto visual media, now a blog, and soon .....Daundaground will return in a new form. MORE
